What they needed

While Articulate already had come up with a great idea, they came to us and challenged us to think globally about the project since we were responsible for all of the design (both the recorder and web site). Every aspect of the Screenr experience needed to feel seamless to the end-user, regardless of whether they were recording or watching screencasts.

What we did

After tackling the branding decisions, we started in on the design of the recorder since that would be the most important aspect of the Screenr experience. We designed a custom look for both the recorder and embeddable video player before moving on to the site. We wanted something that not only looked great, but would explain and show possible uses for the web-based product. In that same vein, we also led the art direction on the demo video that walks you through the Screenr experience from start to finish.

The result

We couldn’t be happier about the way Screenr turned out. From the functionality to the site design to the incredible ways people are using the tool, we are extremely happy to be involved with the product. Our work is far from done though, as there are big things in the works for Screenr. Stay tuned!
