What they needed

After producing new statues for the Hellboy™ and Gears of War™ lines, Mindzeye Studios asked us to update their site to better showcase their statue line. The goal was to launch the new site in time for San Diego Comic Con ‘08, where Mindzeye would have a booth displaying their latest work.

What we did

Mindzeye Studios provided us with their Photoshop comps and we set out to build each page using XHTML, CSS, and PHP. We also implemented a versatile Flash gallery to show off the statues in an elegant way and a brand new store front. Time was a concern and we needed to find a pre-existing, yet customizable solution that would allow Mindzeye to easily manage the product inventory themselves and work with their current PayPal billing system. We utilized Big Cartel to create a seamless transition from Mindzeye’s site to their store pages.

The Result

It was a mad dash at the end of the project, but we were able to get the new site and store live just before Comic Con and Mindzeye Studios could not have been happier! The number of pre-orders before the show was astounding, with Mindzeye selling 150 statues in the course of 48 hours. We love the work that Mindzeye produces and we proudly display several of their statues in our office.
