What they needed
Macalicious wanted to test the boundaries of WordPress by creating a news-style site that would bring all of the best Apple news to the masses. They had always had a Content Management System in place, but they wanted the increased flexibility that would allow them to post easily and often.
What we did
Since WordPress was their CMS of choice, we felt right at home and began working on a custom installation that would suit their needs. Since their primary revenue stream came from advertisements, it was imperative that they have a nimble ad server that was easy enough to change quickly, yet robust enough to handle multiple clients and timelines. We helped them install the OpenX ad server package to accommodate their needs. Since advertising was obviously a large part of the site, we made sure to design the site around pre-determined ad blocks in order to optimize user experience—all without taking away from aesthetics. After a few rounds of back and forth we had a versatile site in both the advertising and content department.
The result
The folks at Human Binary couldn’t be more pleased with the work that we’ve done for them. They have seen their ad revenues increase substantially as well as their feed subscribers and overall traffic. We were happy to provide our expertise and look forward to working with the folks at Macalicious for a long time to come!
