The Reboot has arrived

Well folks, here it is. The new and improved 45royale. It looks and feels completely different and that was the goal. This time we really focused on layout and usability and came up with something that I feel is more functional than the last design. Everything has its place and that feels alright.

The look of the site is something that I’ve wanted to do for a while. There are many sites out there that are using dark backgrounds and shading that look fantastic. However, we opted for the white background to keep things simple. There are little touches that help to offset the whitespace, and overall I think things work pretty well together.

This time around we moved away from having the blog entries at the top of the home page. This site is more than just a blog, it is a representation of our business on the web. We decided to step back a little bit to our roots when we had more than just our most recent post on the front. I think it worked out pretty well and still features the content correctly. We’ve added and updated many new pages on the site and included some new features such as our newsletter sign-up, client login section (in the footer at the bototm of this page) and a spanking new Request for Proposal form. We wanted to give our users, clients and potential clients everything they would need close at hand. These changes are for the better and we really think they’ll help with our site’s functionality.

So that’s a brief overview of the new site. Have a look around, there’s plenty to see. There are a few layout bugs left to squash in Internet Explorer (go figure) and they will be dealt with in the next few days. If you see anything funky, please let us know. Also, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the redesign. If you have a minute, please leave a comment or stop by our reboot page and tell us what you think.

  1. The reboot looks great Downey. It has a much cleaner, and fresh feel. Overall, I like it much better. Keep up the good work!

  2. Love the simplicity of your site, the colors are also a great match. Good work on the reboot. Very Impressive.

  3. Nice work! Definately an improvement over the “old” design.

The only thing that’s a bit confusing for me is the “notbook” link. At first I didn’t know what qualified under notebook other then pics of your laptop or something, hehe. Oh well, that might be because my native language isn’t English :-)
And I kind of miss the validatorlinks at the bottom… perhaps that’s because every webdev-site has them these days.

Overall, a very nice layout, and still easy to see the resemblance to the old design.

    Regards,
    Joram

  5. Hey guys, the site looks really great. It’s simple, yet there are a lot of details that keep everything fresh and interesting from page to page. Congrats on a job well done.

  6. Nicely done. I love the combination of all the different colors… they all compliment really well.

  7. I liked your idea of tag graph. It is very nice. much better than tag clouds.
