The Survey, 2008
Yes folks, it’s that time of year again — A List Apart has released their “Survey for People Who Make Websites” survey and hope to learn more about this profession that some of us live, eat, and breathe. Since the web design and/or development profession is still relatively young, it’s great to see that the good kinds folks at A List Apart are looking to “pool our information so as to begin sketching a true picture of the way our profession is practiced worldwide.”
Until their first survey last year, no one had really considered what their fellow dotcomrades were doing, how long they had been doing it, and probably most importantly, what type of income they were bringing in from doing it. This survey is meant to help clarify and shed light on our industry as a whole and should prove to be a nice guide as to the state of web design profession in 2008.
As I was last year, I’m very much looking forward to the results of this survey. There were a few bumpy spots last year with the questions and I feel like this year they did a better job of thinking things through and asking the right questions. With any luck, the time and care they took in creating these questions will help give a more definitive look in to the inner workings of our nerdtastic profession. What are you waiting for, take the survey!
