gDisk For Mac Users
Well, the new iPod came out today. Everyone and their mom is writing about it, everyone has an opinion. Here’s mine: big freakin’ whoop. I have no use for paying $1.99 to watch a video or television show on a 2.5″ screen. Yes it’s a cool feature, but hardly one that should influence buyers and one that I’m sure will lose it’s novelty after the first week or so of ownership. I’m an Apple-addict through and through but I’d be more than happy with a video-less iPod Nano. Besides, I’ve got something better that’s FREE and should prove much more useful than watching re-runs of Despearte Housewives .
For a while now Windows users have been able to use gMail’s generous 2GB mail capacity as a portable hard drive. And for a while now, OS X users have been left out in the cold when it came to programs capable of harnessing the true power of gMail. Well the wait is over my friends. I give you gDisk.
gDisk’s tiny application packs a big punch by creating a drag and drop interface between you and your gMail account. Upon installation, it creates folders for you and allows you to put your files where you want them. Neat, clean and organized. It doesn’t get any easier than that. Now from virtually any computer in the world, you will have access to the files you have added to your file folders. With the size available for storage, who needs a thumb drive?
Also, I have been having problems thinking of something clever to be for Halloween. I have about 20 gMail accounts left to give out, all you have to do is give me a good costume suggestion in the comments and I’ll hook you up with the invite.
