In the same vein as DJ Dangermouse’s ‘The Grey Album’, another member of the Roc-A-Fella family is involved in a unique remix. This time it’s Kanye West’s ‘College Dropout’ and The Beach Boys’ ‘Pet Sounds’. This one seems a little more of a reach than the Grey Album, but some of the songs are pretty good and it seems like the em-cee/producer Lushlife put some thought into these remixes.

The best part about this mash up is the way that Lushlife has gone about releasing them. He has set up a site were you can download the songs for promo use, along with the front and back album covers. This is a great way for the songs to circulate, plus it seems like more of a finished product. This is one ‘mix tape’ that you’ll be able to burn, print, and package yourself. This is a great concept and has brought a lot of attention to the site and his mixes.

For all you producers out there, the Beastie Boys have released a bunch of acapella tracks along with BPMs and have encouraged folks to remix some of their classics. Every friday they will release a new acapella so make sure you check back in and round them all up. I will post my remixes if you are interested as soon as I have them ready.
